Philippe was recruited as a French teacher for a couple of senior managers when BPB was bought by Saint Gobain. He rapidly proved himself as a versatile and competent teacher, and within 12 months or so had a full range of classes covering some 50 or so students. I had classes with Philippe for a couple of years and over this time, I have learnt a lot about the grammatical structures of a sentence and how important it is to have that knowledge. Learning set phrases by heart is clearly not as efficient as learning grammar from scratch if need be.
Thanks to his particular approach and the subjects discussed, I am still feeling confident – two years later since our lessons stopped – to converse and understand my colleagues, in France and more importantly any people I meet when on holidays in France! I would undoubtedly recommend Philippe if you are serious about learning French!
Philippe is a talented language teacher, who engages easily with his students. He is consistently enthusiastic whilst also demonstrating excellent technical knoweldge. As a proficient multi-linguist, Philippe is able to empathise with his students, and as such is able to adapt his lessons in accordance with his students needs.
